Identity and belonging intersect and overlap. In the “global village” the concept of “origin” seems to be fading ever more into the distance. But both people continue to reflect – forcefully, and at times even unconsciously –the fact that each artist belongs to a particular place and culture at the same time as the desire to “be” in a world without borders.
